Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and dedicated 2nd Grade Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love of education. In this role, you will create a dynamic classroom environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and social-emotional growth. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help students develop foundational skills in literacy, math, and social interaction, setting them up for success in their educational journey. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with children in a Christian school community committed to nurturing each child's unique potential. Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state standards for 2nd grade students, emphasizing literacy education, math, and social skills. Create a positive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies that promote respect and cooperation. Incorporate learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support students with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid state teaching certification for elementary education is required. Proven classroom experience working with 2nd grade students or early childhood education settings. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and working with learning technology tools. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and assessment strategies for young learners. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with parents, colleagues, and specialists. Demonstrated ability to work with children of diverse backgrounds, including those requiring special education or early intervention services. Knowledge of private school teaching practices is a plus.
Pay:
$28,000.00 per year
