Full-Time, Academic Year Position Summary The K-2 Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for students in kindergarten through second grade. This role focuses on building foundational skills in literacy, math, social-emotional development, and critical thinking while fostering a love of learning. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Curriculum Plan and deliver standards-based lessons aligned with district and state guidelines Teach core subjects including reading, writing, math, science, and social studies Use a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learning needs Incorporate hands-on, interactive, and play-based learning experiences Student Development Support students' academic, social, and emotional growth Establish and maintain a positive, structured classroom environment Promote appropriate behavior using positive behavior interventions Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback Assessment & Data Assess student learning through formal and informal methods Use data to inform instruction and differentiate learning Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance Collaboration & Communication Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and administration Participate in team meetings, professional development, and school events Classroom Management Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom culture Organize classroom materials and maintain a clean, effective learning space Implement classroom routines and procedures effectively Qualifications Education & Certification Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid Kansas teaching license/certification for elementary education Skills & Competencies Strong understanding of early childhood development Effective classroom management skills Ability to differentiate instruction Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency with educational technology and tools Preferred Qualifications Prior teaching or student teaching experience in early elementary grades Training in literacy instruction (e.g., phonics-based approaches) Experience with diverse learners, including special education and English language learners Work Environment Classroom setting with young children (ages 5-8) Requires standing, walking, and active engagement throughout the day Additional Duties Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or administration Application Process Interested candidates should submit a resume, cover letter, teaching certification, and references to https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfHp56FDSbagKVQmnbbc-dvoZPhsitgSU1XAV1m0vGnOagtCw/viewform Holton USD #336 is an Equal Opportunity Employer.Pay:
