Job Description

Thank you for your interest inemployment with Louisiana Tech University. A. E. Phillips Laboratory School is a K-8 school, housed on the campus of LouisianaTech University in Ruston, LA. A.E. Phillips is known for its strong academic focus and innovative teaching strategies as well as itsemphasis on the arts. The school is seen as a model for technology in the classroom. AEP serves as a site for Louisiana Tech educationmajors to observe and practice effective teaching strategies in a supportive environment. The Vision of A. E. Phillips Laboratory School is ranked as one of the top schools in Louisiana, having receivedan "A" rating. The faculty has received numerous awards such as local and regional Teacher of the Year, Outstanding Young Educator, and theMilken Award. A. E. Phillips teachers are committed to the concept of life-long learning, engaging in extensive professional development. A. E. Phillips is looking for a 5th grade teacher to join our team of outstanding educators. Candidates must hold a collegedegree, and valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in the field of instruction. It is preferred that candidates also have a Master's Degreeand 3 years of classroom experience. Candidates must be able to lead and supervise students toward realizing their intellectual,emotional, and psychological potential and to perform tasks which may be necessary for the efficient operation of the school. Candidates'performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education.
