Job Goals:
To plan and deliver effective instruction that enables all students to develop critical thinking skills, achieve academic success, and become lifelong learners. To work with our students to develop the skills and character needed to become mature, capable, responsible, and productive citizens.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Planning & Delivery:
Develops and implements engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans aligned with district/state curriculum standards.
Classroom Management:
Establishes and enforces classroom rules and procedures to foster a positive, organized learning environment.
Assessment & Evaluation:
Assesses student academic and social progress, maintains, and updates accurate records (attendance, grades, report cards).
Differentiation:
Adapts teaching methods and materials to meet diverse learning needs and abilities.
Communication:
Communicates regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, and collaborates with staff to support student needs.
Supervision & Support:
Supervises students during classroom hours and non-classroom activities (recess, lunch, assemblies).
Professionalism:
Attends staff meetings, professional development workshops, and school events.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field.
Certification:
Valid state certification/licensure to teach elementary education.
Skills:
Strong communication, patience, creativity, organizational skills, and proficiency in technology (e.g., smartboards, virtual learning tools).
