K-6 Elementary Teacher Full-Time | Malden, MA Affordable housing option available for qualified candidates About Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) Founded in 1998, Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (MVRCS) is a high-performing public K-12 charter school located in Malden, Massachusetts, serving more than 1,750 students. Student success at MVRCS is driven by exceptional educators, a carefully selected and faithfully implemented curriculum, high expectations, and a commitment to traditional pedagogy. Our graduates achieve outstanding success at the post-secondary level, reflecting the strong academic foundation developed during their time at Mystic Valley. Students in Grades K-12 attend school in dress code for a 200-day academic year and benefit from an extended school day, approximately 60 minutes longer than most traditional public schools. Position Overview MVRCS is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Elementary Teacher (Grades K-6) to deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction within a structured and supportive classroom environment. The ideal candidate is committed to student achievement, thrives in a collaborative setting, and embraces data-driven instruction. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain an organized classroom environment and daily instructional schedule Implement designated curricula with fidelity, including Direct Instruction and Core Knowledge Maintain strong classroom management using the school's behavior model, including a 4:1 ratio of positive reinforcement Monitor and document student progress daily; submit weekly updates to the Professional Development Coordinator Reflect on and report on the effectiveness of Core Knowledge lessons to support continuous improvement Participate in all required professional development and training sessions Collaborate with colleagues through weekly grade-level meetings, Teacher Assistance Team (TAT) meetings, and staff meetings Attend and contribute to IEP meetings as needed Implement all required accommodations and modifications in accordance with IEP and 504 plans Complete progress reports, report cards, and grading requirements throughout the school year Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain consistent communication with families Participate in school events, including Back-to-School Night, open houses, and other community events Fulfill assigned duties, including morning, lunch/recess, and afternoon supervision Uphold and adhere to all school policies, procedures, and expectations Perform additional responsibilities as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to analyze information, solve problems, and make sound instructional decisions Strong collaboration, teaching, and leadership skills Ability to work effectively within a structured, team-oriented environment Commitment to high expectations and student success Successful completion of applicable MTEL exams within one year of employment Additional Information Annual appointment with yearly performance evaluation Equal Opportunity Employer Mystic Valley Regional Charter School is an equal opportunity employer.
