First-Grade Classroom Teacher Marblehead Public Schools - 3.3 Marblehead, MA Job Details Full-time 15 hours ago Qualifications Parent-teacher conferences (communication methods) Full Job Description The Lucretia and Joseph Brown School, a PreK-Grade 3 elementary school located in historic Marblehead, Massachusetts, is looking for a highly qualified first-grade teacher. In addition to general education classrooms, Brown has several specialized support classrooms. We are a highly collaborative school and are looking for a third-grade teacher who would be an asset to our elementary team. We have a very strong SEL program based on the PBIS framework.

Primary responsibilities: Create a positive and safe educational climate for students to learn inMeet course and school-wide student performance goalsCreate lesson plans and modify them accordingly throughout the yearIntegrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plansProvide one-on-one support to students on an individual basis as neededEstablish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activitiesObserve and evaluate students' performance. Evaluate the progress of each student through formal and informal assessmentManage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary proceduresPromote high expectations, demonstrate a caring attitude, and establish an environment that supports social, emotional, and academic development in students.

Frequently communicate with parents and caregivers about their childs progress by phone, email, in-person conferences, newsletters, and through report cards. Be available for individual meetings when needed.

Attend all faculty meetings and participate actively as a team member.

Attend and participate in all in-service and faculty professional development days.

Cover recess and other duties as assigned by the principal.
