Grade 3 Teacher Johnson Elementary School, Nahant Swampscott Public Schools - 4.4 Nahant, MA Job Details Full-time 3 hours ago Qualifications Teacher collaboration Teaching Certification Curriculum standards alignment Cross-functional communication Full Job Description Nahant Public Schools Grade 3 Teacher Johnson Elementary School The Johnson Elementary School is seeking a collaborative, student-centered educator to join our learning community as a Grade 3 Teacher. The ideal candidate is committed to academic excellence, inclusive practices, and fostering strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues. This educator will contribute positively to the Johnson School culture through a commitment to social-emotional learning, restorative practices, and a strong belief that all children can achieve at high levels. This position is part of a dynamic staffing model designed to support enrollment needs and may include future flexibility in grade-level assignment within Grades K-6 based on district needs. Assignment is determined annually by the Johnson School Principal. Position Overview The Grade 3 Teacher will provide high-quality instruction aligned to Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district initiatives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices grounded in the Science of Reading, differentiated instruction, and standards-based learning. Experience implementing or willingness to learn high-quality instructional materials (HQIM) is essential.
The teacher will:
Implement EL Education ELA curriculum and instructional practices aligned to the Science of Reading Deliver mathematics instruction using Eureka Squared Pilot and support implementation of Investigating History Grade 3 Social Studies curriculum Foster a positive classroom environment rooted in PBIS, SEL, and restorative practices Collaborate closely with colleagues, interventionist, special education teachers and specialists, and families to support student growth Participate actively in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), curriculum development, and school improvement initiatives Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and interventions Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all learners
Qualifications Required:
Massachusetts Elementary Teacher License (Grades 1-6) SEI Endorsement- or achieve within the SY 2027 CORI and fingerprint clearance and/or Letter of Suitability as required by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Strong communication, organizational, positive mindset and collaboration skills Commitment to inclusive educational practices and continuous professional growth
Preferred:
Experience with EL Education curriculum or another Science of Reading HQIM Experience with Eureka Squared mathematics program Knowledge of Science of Reading instructional practices Experience implementing
PBIS, SEL
Casel Competencies, and restorative practices Safety-Care or comparable de-escalation/safety training experience Experience working collaboratively within a team-based elementary school setting Terms of Employment Salary and benefits are in accordance with the Nahant Teachers Association collective bargaining agreement.
