The ideal candidate will:
  • Collaborate with school personnel, parents and various community agencies for the purpose of improving the quality of student outcomes, developing solutions and planning curriculum
  • Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students
  • Promote equity and appreciation of diversity-Maintain classroom management-Promote high standards and expectations for student achievement-Plan and deliver effective instruction-Execute the subject matter knowledge requirements specific for Elementary Teachers, including: Teaches reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, to students, utilizing the districts course of study and other appropriate learning activitiesInstructs students in citizenship and basic subject matterDevelops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each studentUses a variety of instruction strategies, such as inquiry, group discussion, lecture, and discoveryTranslates lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instructionIdentifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members inassessing and helping students solve health, attitude, and learning problemsCreates an effective environment for learning through functional and attractivedisplays, bulletin boards, and interest centersSelects and requisitions books and instructional aids appropriate for grade level Administers group standardized tests in accordance with district and state testing programParticipates in curriculum development programs as required•Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the Building Principal
