Reports To:

Building Principal Position Overview Swampscott Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Grade 5 Teacher to join our dedicated community of learners and leaders. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing high-quality, standards-aligned instruction that meets the diverse needs of all learners within an inclusive environment. Essential Functions Instructional Leadership & Data-Driven Practice

Rigorous Curriculum:

Design and execute rigorous, standards-based units that leverage formative assessment and differentiation to meet the needs of every learner.

Pedagogical Excellence:

Utilize varied techniques to challenge and motivate students, ensuring equitable participation and the application of prior knowledge to new content.

Data Analysis:

Frequently review assessments to pinpoint learning gaps and mastery levels; design and adjust dynamic small groups based on real-time student data.

Tiered Instruction:

Create tiered lessons to challenge advanced learners and provide targeted support for those needing intervention.

Critical Feedback:

Provide immediate, analytical feedback that encourages students to think critically and take ownership of their academic journey. Classroom Culture & Inclusion

Licensure:

Current Massachusetts Elementary Certification (Grades 1-6).

Education:

Bachelor's Degree required; Master's Degree preferred.

SEI Endorsement:

Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) endorsement required.

Experience:

Three (3) years of classroom teaching experience is preferred.

Compliance:

Successful completion of a Massachusetts CORI and fingerprint-based national criminal background check.
