  • December 23, 2026.
The successful candidate will be collaborative, innovative, and committed to supporting student's growth. Overview Teachers plan curriculum and instruction, deliver effective instruction, manage classroom climate and operation, promote equity and meet their professional responsibilities in the classroom and school to which they are assigned. Their work is guided by the Professional Standards for Teachers promulgated by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and other applicable laws and regulations. Responsibilities These responsibilities are summarized from the Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Draws on the content standards of the relevant curriculum frameworks to plan sequential units of study, individual lessons, and learning activities that make learning cumulative and advance students' level of content knowledge.
  • Plans lessons with clear objectives and measurable outcomes.
  • Uses information in Individual Education Programs (IEPs) to plan strategies for integrating students with disabilities into general education classrooms.
  • Incorporate appropriate technology and media in lesson planning.
  • Communicates high standards and expectations when beginning the lesson, when carrying out the lesson, when extending and completing the lesson, and when evaluating student learning.
  • Creates an environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate for a range of learning activities.
  • Maintains appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety, and manages classroom routines and procedures without significant loss of instructional time.
  • Works to promote achievement by all students without exception.
  • Understands their legal and moral responsibilities, including but not limited to their Ch. 51A responsibilities, and the responsible and acceptable use of the internet and other resources.
  • Collaborates with colleagues to improve instruction, assessment and student achievement.
  • Works actively to involve parents in their child's academic activities and performance, and communicates clearly with them.
  • Reflects critically on their teaching experience, and identifies areas for further professional development. Qualifications
  • Ability to meet the contractual requirements outlined in the agreement currently in effect, including attendance at contractually required meetings.
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree, teaching or related experience, and, at the discretion of the Superintendent of Schools, possession of a Master's degree. Certifications
  • Minimum qualification is a license or waiver in elementary education issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
  • SEI endorsement preferred.
