Grade 5 Teacher Wilmington Public Schools - 3.8 Wilmington, MA Job Details Full-time $57,271 - $109,685 a year 18 hours ago Qualifications IEP Academic program development Teacher collaboration Student performance assessment strategies Behavioral standards enforcement in schools Working with individuals with disabilities Student record keeping Mid-level Working with students with special education needs Lesson planning School policy and procedure enforcement Classroom behavior management Classroom Teaching Stakeholder relationship building K-12 education instructional development Full Job Description Responsible for effective planning and assessment of curriculum and instruction; Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students; Responsible for effective instruction which includes making learning goals clear to the students, and usingappropriate instructional and questioning techniques; Responsible for using innovative approaches and instructional strategies, including the effective use oftechnologies, to increase student learning and confidence to learn; Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of thestudents; Responsible for the promotion of high standards and expectations for student achievement and behavior; Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum standards and establishes clear objectiveswhich reflect these standards for all lessons, units, and projects; Implements the district's mission, philosophy of education and instructional standards and objectives; Assesses and documents student progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required; Documents the learning problems of students and seeks the assistance of district specialists as required; Implements all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, develops reasonable rules and standardsfor classroom behavior; Strives to maintain and improve professional competence especially as it relates to the specific assignment andstudent grade and subject area appropriateness; Attend staff, 504 & IEP meetings as required. Establishes and maintains cooperative relationships with others; Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with students, colleagues, and parents concerning theacademic and behavioral progress of assigned students; Responsible for the promotion of equity and appreciation of diversity to ensure equitable opportunities for studentlearning, including, implementing specific strategies for students with special needs, with 504 plans and\or secondlanguage learners; Responsible for providing equal educational opportunities to all individuals regardless of race, color, gender, age,marital status, homelessness, religion, national origin, or disability; Performance of other job-related duties as assigned. Knowledge of Grade 5 Massachusetts State Standards Utilize & implement DCAP accommodation when necessary
