Part-Time | Monday-Friday 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM or 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Additional hours available during school breaks and summer

Position Summary:

Smart Fit Kids is seeking a responsible, caring, and energetic MSDE-qualified School Age Teacher to join our after-school program team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where kids can thrive after school. Duties include picking up students from local elementary schools using company vehicles, supervising homework time, and leading engaging, hands-on activities such as arts and crafts, games, and enrichment projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Safely transport students from nearby schools using a company vehicle Supervise children during arrival, transitions, snack time, and structured activities Provide homework help and encourage academic engagement Lead fun, age-appropriate activities, including crafts, games, and enrichment Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment Keep accurate records (attendance, incident reports, etc.) Communicate effectively with parents, team members, and leadership Follow MSDE Office of Child Care regulations and program policies at all times Minimum Qualifications (Per

MSDE COMAR 13A.16.06

) : Must be at least 19 years old with a high school diploma or GED Completed the 90-Hour School Age Child Care Certification (or approved equivalent) Minimum of 400 hours of supervised experience working with school-aged children Valid driver's license with clean driving record and willingness to drive a company vehicle Current CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain before start date) Ability to pass all required background checks and medical clearances

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a licensed child care or school-age program Familiarity with MSDE regulations and Maryland EXCELS Strong classroom management and communication skills Creative, enthusiastic, and passionate about working with children Why Join Smart Fit Kids?
