GORHAM SCHOOL DEPARTMENT

Grade 1 - Great Falls Elementary School Great Falls Elementary School is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and student-centered Grade 1 Teacher to join our school community. The successful candidate will create a positive, engaging, and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic growth, social-emotional development, and a love of learning for all students. This teacher will work closely with colleagues, support staff, and families to provide high-quality instruction and meet the diverse needs of first-grade learners. Responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering high-quality instruction aligned to grade-level standards
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment
• Supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth
• Using assessment data to inform instruction and respond to student needs
• Collaborating with colleagues, specialists, and support staff
• Maintaining strong communication and partnerships with families
• Contributing positively to the overall school community

Qualifications:

• Maine Elementary Teaching Certification (or eligibility)
• Knowledge of early literacy, numeracy, and child development
• Strong classroom management, communication, and collaboration skills
