Special Services Building and Local GSRP locations 701 South Paw Paw Street Lawrence, MI 49064 Job Goal(s): The primary job goals of the GSRP Third Teacher are to support the teaching teams in providing high quality services to students enrolled in the program.
Assignment:
Assignment location: Pullman Elementary. Monday - Thursday with occasional trainings on Friday's.
Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma
Additional Certifications/Training Desired:
Training and experience in HighScope Preschool Curriculum® Training and experience in COR Advantage® CPR and First Aid Certified
Work Experience:
Previous work experience in early childhood is preferred. Preference to candidate with knowledge of the Great Start Readiness Program services.
Skills/Requirements:
Complete all childcare and school related background checks (required) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred Must be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the children and program Experience working with persons from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Essential Job Functions:
Assist in the implementation of the daily program under the direction of the lead teacher. Participate in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers and preparing needed materials and supplies under the direction of the lead teacher in each classroom. Support teaching team in gathering observations and data to support child assessment. Serve as official substitute staff for lead or associate teacher when assigned to that role. Assist with general housekeeping and food preparation tasks. Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to GSRP. Treat all children and their parents with the ultimate respect and dignity. Attend all meetings and recommended training programs and professional development. Maintain confidentiality about children and their families. Supervise and participate in outdoor play. Participate in recordkeeping: attendance, meals/snacks, assessments, screens, etc. Perform other duties/responsibilities as assigned by supervisors.
Terms of Employment:
As per master agreement and provisions established by the Van Buren Board of Education.
