Position Type:
Full-Time Position Summary The Gaming and Technology Academy of Saginaw (GATA) is seeking passionate and innovative Elementary Teachers (Grades K-5) to join its founding team for the Fall 2026 school opening. GATA is a technology-focused educational environment where academics, gaming, creativity, competition, and real-world learning experiences are combined to create highly engaging opportunities for student success. Elementary Teachers will play a vital role in establishing strong academic foundations while fostering curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, and a love of learning. The successful candidates will possess a strong understanding of Michigan Academic Standards, effective instructional practices, and data-driven teaching strategies. Teachers will help create a supportive and engaging classroom environment where students are challenged, encouraged, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with Michigan Academic Standards and school curriculum goals. Develop instructional materials and learning activities that promote active student engagement and achievement. Utilize technology and innovative instructional strategies to support and differentiate learning. Monitor student progress and adjust instructional practices based on assessment data and student needs. Provide intervention and support for students who require additional academic assistance. Collaborate with fellow educators to strengthen curriculum, instructional practices, and student outcomes. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and student needs. Establish and communicate clear learning objectives for all instructional activities. Create and maintain a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment. Manage student behavior through consistent implementation of classroom expectations and school policies. Utilize formative, summative, and interim assessment data to guide instructional decision-making. Develop classroom assessments that accurately measure student proficiency and growth. Foster social-emotional development, collaboration, and positive citizenship skills. Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives. Qualifications Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate elementary education endorsement(s). Bachelor's Degree required. Master's Degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years of teaching experience. Must meet Highly Qualified Teacher requirements as defined by applicable state and federal guidelines. Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective elementary curriculum and instruction. Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills. Commitment to student achievement, innovation, and continuous improvement. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented educational environment.
