Job Description

St. Peter Catholic School in Forest Lake, MN is hiring a Third Grade Teacher . The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching elementary-aged students and be a joyful witness to the truth and beauty of the Catholic faith.
SUMMARY OF DUTIES
Teach in accordance with the school's curriculum and in total alignment with the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. Prepare daily lesson plans and structure curriculum. Instruct and assess students using a variety of methods and tools. Exhibit competence in age appropriate and developmentally appropriate instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter. Create a classroom environment that fosters growth and development both academically and spiritually in accordance with the teachings of the Catholic faith. Maintain a positive learning environment. Demonstrate effective, appropriate classroom management skills. Have the willingness and ability to learn and use technology skills as the position demands. Communicate effectively with administration, fellow staff members, and the greater parish community. Demonstrate professionalism and appropriate conduct at all times with supervisors, fellow staff members, parents, and students both in the classroom and throughout the campus. Communicate effectively with parents/guardians and families concerning issues or problems that may arise. Conduct conferences with parents twice a year to discuss and review student progress. Be knowledgeable and supportive of the school's mission, philosophy and code of conduct. Reinforce Catholic identity throughout the school, parish, and local community. Serve as a positive role model and supportive adult to students and families, at all times acting as a witness to the Catholic faith. Participate in in-service classes, workshops, and staff development opportunities to maintain professional licensure and knowledge base. Attend faculty and other parish or school meetings as required. Participate in fundraisers and parish/school events as assigned by the principal. Must be able to attend parish/school related activities outside of regular classroom hours.

Bachelor's Degree Be an active, practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the
Church Preferred:
