As a destination school, STEP Academy ensures all students are nurtured and empowered to use their personal attributes and acquired knowledge to have the choice to participate in early college entry through the Minnesota PSEO program. STEP Academy is dedicated to the growth and development of our entire learning community: students, staff, parents, and administrators.

The Position:

STEP Academy is seeking a passionate and skilled Elementary ELL Teacher (K-5) based at the St. Paul campus (K-12). The ideal candidate will support multilingual learners in developing English language proficiency while strengthening foundational literacy and academic skills. This role includes providing targeted instruction, supporting reading development, and using student data to guide instruction and interventions.

Preferred Qualifications:

K-12 English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching license Experience working with elementary students Knowledge of and experience with literacy instruction and interventions Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds Experience working with English Language Learners (ELL) Cultural competence

Minimum Qualifications:

Any teaching license and willingness to obtain an out-of-area designation Bachelor's degree and ability to obtain a Tier 1 or Tier 2 teaching license, with willingness to work toward a higher-tier license Understanding of elementary literacy and language development Cultural competence

Salary:
