DESCRIPTION
St. Odilia School is seeking a full-time 2nd grade teacher beginning in the 2026-27 academic year. We are looking for a teacher who is excited to teach 2nd-grade students and to bring joy and a love of learning to these young children. The ideal candidate will have excellent classroom management skills and be able to motivate students toward academic excellence. This new faculty member will be committed to advancing the mission of St.
Odilia School by:
Providing a safe, loving, nurturing learning environment for our students. Fostering an environment in which each child is called into a relationship with Jesus Christ. Enabling our students to achieve high academic standards through an advanced curriculum. Working with our students to develop a character based on personal integrity. Honoring and supporting school initiatives, administrative decisions, the vision of our archdiocese, and the Catholic Church. Helping to prepare 2nd graders for the Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Taking pride in their job as a Catholic school teacher. Providing an environment where students are engaged and seek to understand and want to continually show effort to improve and do well. Participating as a member of our community in workshops, staff development opportunities, and committee responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
BA or BS Degree, Current MN Teaching License to correspond with courses taught. Must be a practicing Catholic and be excited to help teach religion in this important Sacramental preparation year. Exhibit competence in instructional methods and knowledge of subject matter being taught. Demonstrate evidence of good classroom management techniques. Develop and maintain a positive rapport and relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. Experience with technology in the classroom: SMARTBoard, iPad, MacBook. Ability to communicate effectively and in a timely fashion with school, students, staff, and parents.
