Job Description

Community of Grace Christian School is prayerfully seeking a passionate and dedicated First Grade Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Christ-centered, academically excellent, and caring community, we are committed to developing the whole child—heart, soul, mind, and body—while preparing and empowering students to become strong, confident, and compassionate leaders. We are looking for an educator who not only loves teaching but also feels called to nurture young hearts in faith, character, and learning. Position Overview The First Grade Teacher will create a joyful, structured, and engaging classroom where students are known, loved, and challenged to grow. This role blends academic instruction with intentional spiritual formation, helping students flourish both in their learning and in their walk with Christ. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate lessons that support academic excellence and reflect a biblical worldview Foster a nurturing, respectful classroom environment where each child feels valued and encouraged Support the spiritual, academic, social, and physical development of every student Communicate with parents and colleagues with care, clarity, and professionalism Assess student progress and provide thoughtful feedback Maintain accurate records and participate in school community life, including meetings and professional development Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education Current state teaching license Experience with elementary students preferred Strong communication, organization, and classroom leadership skills A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and a desire to model Christian character in and out of the classroom If you feel called to be part of a community where faith and learning grow hand in hand, we would love to hear from you.
