Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Reading Teacher to inspire young learners and foster a love for literacy. In this role, you will design engaging lesson plans, implement effective teaching strategies, and support students' reading development across diverse learning needs. Utilize learning technology tools and digital resources to enhance instruction and support differentiated learning styles. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparations, and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Provide individualized tutoring and intervention for students needing extra support, including those with autism or special education needs. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques to foster a positive learning environment. Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants, sharing expertise in classroom management, behavior management, and instructional strategies. Incorporate library services and literacy resources into lessons to promote independent reading habits among students. Support early intervention initiatives by identifying developmental milestones in childhood development and implementing appropriate instructional strategies. Maintain detailed records of student progress, attendance, and behavioral incidents while ensuring compliance with education administration standards. Skills Proven experience in classroom management and working with children across various age groups in elementary settings. Strong knowledge of literacy education principles, including phonics, writing skills, and comprehension strategies. Familiarity with curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards such as Montessori or other progressive methodologies. Excellent communication skills for engaging effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Ability to implement behavior management techniques that foster a respectful and productive classroom atmosphere. Experience working with individuals with autism or special education requirements is highly desirable. Proficiency in learning technology tools for lesson planning, assessment, and student engagement. Knowledge of standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to prepare students for assessments confidently. Skills in proofreading, lesson plan writing, curriculum design, and educational administration are valuable assets. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in childhood development theories and teaching best practices.
