Job Description
The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
Job Summary St. Peter Catholic School is seeking a dedicated, faith-filled Second Grade Teacher to join our vibrant school community for the upcoming academic year. This role offers the opportunity to guide students through an important year of academic growth while preparing them for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in partnership with families, parish clergy, and school leadership. The ideal candidate is a nurturing, collaborative, and student-centered educator who fosters a structured, engaging, and faith-filled classroom environment where students grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Job Responsibilities Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with curriculum standards across core subject areas Create and maintain a positive, structured, and engaging classroom environment Prepare students for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion through instruction, prayer, and formation experiences Integrate Catholic values and teachings into daily classroom activities and student interactions Assess student progress regularly and use data to inform instruction Communicate effectively and consistently with parents regarding student progress and development Collaborate with colleagues, parish staff, and school leadership to support student success Support the social, emotional, and spiritual development of each child Maintain accurate records and uphold school policies and expectations Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field Valid Missouri teaching certification (or ability to obtain) Practicing Catholic strongly preferred; commitment to supporting Catholic education required Experience with primary elementary students preferred Strong classroom management and instructional skills Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities Ability to create a nurturing, faith-filled, and student-centered learning environment The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
