Job Description

We have a rich history, with its establishment 200 years ago by St. Rose Phillppine Duchesne. A coalition of schools serving over 50,000 students (PreK-12) within an 11-county area. Job Summary The 3rd Grade Teacher is responsible for delivering a faith-based, academically rigorous elementary education in alignment with Catholic teachings. This role integrates spiritual development with core curriculum instruction, fostering the intellectual, moral, and religious growth of students.
Job Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging lessons in reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies Teach religion curriculum in accordance with Catholic doctrine and diocesan guidelines Integrate Catholic values and teachings across all subject areas Lead students in daily prayer and participate in school liturgies, including Mass Prepare students for sacraments (e.g., First Reconciliation and First Communion, if applicable) Assess student progress regularly and maintain accurate records of academic performance Create a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior Collaborate with faculty, administration, and parish staff Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field Valid state teaching certification (preferred or required depending on school/diocese) Practicing Catholic preferred; willingness to support the mission of the Catholic Church required Knowledge of Catholic teachings, traditions, and practices Prior teaching experience (elementary level preferred) The Archdiocese of St. Louis Catholic Education and Formation is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
