Jul 29, 2026 Job Description Do not include a picture with your application/resume. Licensed, dedicated Lower School teacher needed at IC Imagine Charter School in Asheville, NC. The teacher is expected to plan for and implement relevant and appropriate grade level curriculum aligned to the State Standards. The teacher serves in a leadership role to establish an elementary program and a class environment that promotes social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth by providing rich and engaging experiences. The teacher establishes effective rapport with students, motivates students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for learning, in accordance with each student's ability. This individual creates and maintains good relationships with parents and other staff members. Salary based on IC Imagine's Certified/ Licensed Teachers Salary Schedule.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Create a classroom environment of respect that fosters a positive climate for learning, equity, and excellence. Foster rapport with students to support the development of the classroom community. Promote student learning by providing responsive instruction that makes use of effective communication techniques, instructional strategies that actively engage students in the learning process, and timely, high-quality feedback. Understand the central concepts, tools of inquiry and structures of classroom management and be able to create learning experiences that make the subject matter meaningful to students. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners. Participate in Standard Based Grading practices Use classroom, school and state data to inform instruction. Manage instructional time and student behavior. Consult with parents, teachers, administrators, and the community to enhance the learning of students. Visibly demonstrate the IC Imagine mission throughout the school and greater community in a professional manner with the highest regard for children, families and colleagues. Use resources necessary to plan, implement, and evaluate instructional practices necessary to follow the guidelines of the NC Standards for all courses taught. Design instruction appropriate for all students that reflects understanding of relevant content and is based on continuous and appropriate assessment. Collaborate with other teachers, support staff and the IC Imagine community to enhance the educational opportunities for all students. Follow the processes laid out in the faculty handbook, respond to emails in a timely manner, keep grades updated weekly, and correspond regularly with families with pertinent information for courses taught. Will perform additional duties including, but not limited to supervision during non-instructional time, attending after school events and meetings, participating in enrollment activities leading and during the Open Enrollment period. Adhere to all legal and ethical requirements of the teaching profession and set an example for others to do the same.
Skills and Abilities:
Skilled in problem solving and decision making as well as observation, listening, and coaching Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing Maintain effective working relationships Possess strong time management skills Ability to prioritize workload and multitask in a busy environment Proficiency with GSuite
Education and Experience:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree Valid North Carolina teaching license 1 year teaching experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
