To Be Determined Job Description Cornish Elementary School need for a full time grade 2 classroom teacher in a small, PreK through Grade 8 elementary school. Ideal candidate has strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to form positive and productive relationships with young children; and has a solid background in teaching foundations of mathematics, language arts, science and social studies using a combination of direct instruction, centers and exploratory approaches to learning. Familiarity with Reading Wonders and Math in Focus a plus. New Hampshire certification in Elementary Education (K-6 or K-2), or the equivalent, required. Our school has a teaching staff which collaborates in many ways, and is currently working to articulate subject-specific competencies in conjunction with a standards-based grading system. We utilize elements from Responsive Classroom and the Safe and Civil Schools approach to cultivate a positive school climate, so the ability to communicate well and develop positive relationships with parents as well as children and colleagues will be another essential quality we seek.
