To Be Determined Job Description Second Grade Teacher Wellheart Chartered School | Merrimack, New Hampshire Wellheart Chartered School is seeking a joyful, flexible, and collaborative Second Grade Teacher to join our growing school community for the 2026-2027 school year. Wellheart is a Reggio Emilia-inspired charter school that values curiosity, relationships, outdoor learning, meaningful student work, and strong family partnership. As we enter our second year, we are looking for an educator who is excited to help build something thoughtful, student-centered, and lasting. The ideal candidate will understand how to create a structured, academically rich elementary classroom where students learn through inquiry, discussion, exploration, documentation, projects, and meaningful connections to the world around them. Responsibilities include: Plan and deliver engaging second grade instruction aligned to academic standards and student needs Use Reggio-inspired practices such as inquiry, student voice, documentation, collaboration, and project-based learning Incorporate outdoor, place-based, and community-connected learning when appropriate Collaborate with colleagues to support Wellheart's hybrid learning model Help adapt lessons and assignments so families can support meaningful learning at home Build a warm, respectful classroom culture grounded in relationships, routines, and student responsibility Communicate clearly and regularly with families Participate in the continued development of Wellheart's instructional model, curriculum resources, and school culture Report to the Head of SchoolQualifications:
Bachelor's degree required New Hampshire teacher certification preferred Elementary teaching experience preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Commitment to collaboration, flexibility, and building a young school community Interest in Reggio Emilia-inspired, outdoor, and hybrid learning modelsCompensation:
Salary range is $55,000- 60,000, based on qualifications and experience.
