This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the academic and personal growth of students in upper elementary grades. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a strong commitment to fostering a positive learning atmosphere. You will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, supporting individual student needs, and promoting a love of learning across core subjects including literacy, math, science, and social studies. This paid position is vital in helping students develop critical thinking skills, independence, and confidence as they prepare for middle school. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities. Deliver engaging instruction across subjects such as literacy education, mathematics, science, social studies, and health education. Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive lessons. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies to create a safe and respectful environment. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, instructional strategies, and school-wide initiatives. Provide mentorship and support to students with special education needs or those requiring early intervention services. Engage with parents and guardians through regular communication about student progress and classroom activities. Support extracurricular activities such as library services or physical education classes to promote well-rounded development. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and behavioral reports in accordance with education administration policies. Skills Proven classroom management skills with the ability to foster a disciplined yet nurturing environment. Strong writing skills for lesson planning, student assessments, and parent communication. Expertise in literacy education, math instruction, and childhood development principles. Experience working with children with autism or other special needs populations; familiarity with early childhood education frameworks like Montessori is a plus. Knowledge of learning technology platforms and tools for effective teaching and assessment purposes. Ability to proofread educational materials for clarity and accuracy; experience in curriculum development is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Demonstrated ability to mentor students individually or in small groups through tutoring or targeted interventions. Skills in behavior management techniques that promote positive social interactions among students. Experience working in private school settings is preferred but not required.
