Responsibilities Develop and deliver dynamic lesson plans that incorporate best practices in curriculum development, including literacy education, math, science, and social studies. Utilize learning technology tools to enhance student engagement and understanding. Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques. Assess student progress regularly using formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations. Provide individualized support through tutoring or early intervention strategies for students with diverse learning needs, including those with autism or special education requirements. Foster a safe, inclusive environment that promotes respect, collaboration, and active participation among students. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, school events, and educational administration tasks to ensure a cohesive learning experience. Mentor new teachers or student interns to support professional development within the school community. Incorporate library services and resources into lessons to promote literacy and research skills. Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, Montessori methods (if applicable), or other educational frameworks like early childhood education. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; advanced certifications preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for elementary education; additional endorsements in special education or Montessori are advantageous. Demonstrated classroom experience working with children at the elementary level, especially in grades 4-6. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators. Proven ability to develop engaging lesson plans that incorporate writing skills, math strategies, and literacy education techniques. Experience working with individuals with autism or implementing early intervention strategies is a plus. Knowledge of classroom management practices and behavior management techniques to create a positive learning environment. Familiarity with learning technology platforms and tools used in modern classrooms. Ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners and incorporate special education accommodations when needed.
