Job Overview Join our dynamic Explore Academy team as a 5th Grade Teacher in Rio Rancho! Responsibilities Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, social studies, and other core subjects. Utilize diverse teaching methods and learning technologies to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Manage classroom behavior effectively through proactive behavior management strategies and positive reinforcement. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation. Provide individualized support and tutoring to students needing extra assistance, including those with special education needs or autism. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to support student development and implement early intervention strategies when necessary. Incorporate physical education activities and promote healthy habits to foster well-rounded development. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, assessments, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with school policies. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; teaching certification for elementary education is required. Proven classroom experience working with elementary-aged children in diverse settings. Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices. Excellent communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues. Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education techniques. Familiarity with learning technology tools and library services that enhance classroom instruction. Ability to manage a classroom environment confidently while fostering a safe, inclusive space for all students. Knowledge of special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals with autism is preferred.
