The ideal candidate believes in educating the whole child, fostering strong relationships with families, and creating a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and excited to learn. The Kindergarten Teacher is responsible for planning and delivering engaging instruction aligned to Nevada Academic Content Standards while supporting students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental growth. Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are strongly preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plan and implement developmentally appropriate instruction for kindergarten students Create a positive classroom culture that promotes safety, belonging, and respect Deliver instruction in early literacy, language development, mathematics, science, and social studies Differentiate instruction to support diverse student needs and learning styles Utilize assessment data to monitor progress and guide instruction Implement classroom management practices aligned with the school's PBIS expectations: Be Kind to Self, Be Kind to Others & Be Kind to the Environment Collaborate with grade-level teams, intervention staff, special education staff, EL staff, and administration Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress and classroom activities Participate in school events, professional development, team meetings, and family engagement activities Maintain accurate student records and comply with school, district, and state requirements Foster social-emotional learning and positive peer relationships Support schoolwide initiatives and contribute positively to the BCES school culture Qualifications Valid Nevada teaching license or ability to obtain prior to employment Elementary education endorsement required Experience teaching early elementary students preferred Strong instructional, classroom management, and communication skills Knowledge of early childhood development and best instructional practices Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Commitment to equity, inclusion, and relationship-based teaching Bilingual English/Spanish skills strongly preferred Preferred Characteristics Positive, flexible, and solution-oriented mindset Strong relationship-building skills with students and families Commitment to continuous professional growth Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences Passion for supporting the academic and social-emotional success of all students Work Year & Schedule Full-time licensed teaching position School-year calendar consistent with BCES instructional calendar Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on education and experience Nevada charter school salary enhancement funding, as applicable Health benefits and PERS participation Professional development opportunities Supportive and collaborative school environment About Bailey Charter Elementary School Bailey Charter Elementary School is an independent public charter school serving students in grades K-6 in Reno, Nevada.
