STEM / Makerspace Teacher

Tamim Academy of Queens is seeking a hands-on STEM / Makerspace Teacher to join our warm school community for the 2026-2027 school year. This position could be full time or part time based on the candidate Tamim Academy of Queens strives to provide an extraordinary joyful and wonder based educational experience for children, mindfully partnering with parents to facilitate the social, physical, intellectual, creative, emotional, and spiritual development of every child and family. Through innovative pedagogical programs and interdisciplinary project based learning (PBL), students are provided the opportunity to develop self-confidence and self-awareness, enhance their academic skills and creative capabilities, and build their individual Jewish identity in a caring environment preparing each child for success in the 21st-century. The ideal candidate is experienced in Next Generation Standards and differentiated instruction, and is committed to engaging students through meaningful, student-centered learning. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, supporting both academic and social-emotional growth, and fostering a classroom environment where students feel empowered and supported.

QUALIFICATIONS

B.A. or M.A. Degree in Elementary Education 1 year minimum classroom experience ( preferred ) Strong classroom management skills rooted in positive discipline and responsive classroom practices Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
