Elementary Teacher (social studies) Anticipated Openings Provide an educational program for students in grade 6 and assist in other school programs as assigned

Representative Duties and Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Teach students utilizing the course of study adopted by South Buffalo Charter School Board of Trustees Instruct students in citizenship, basic communication skills and other general elements of the course of study specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of the school Provide planned learning experiences in order to motivate students and effectively utilize the available time for instruction Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and provide differentiated, individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student Evaluate students' academic and social growth, keep appropriate records, prepare progress reports and communicate with parents on the individual student's progress Identify student needs and cooperate with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems Perform basic attendance services as are required Maintain professional competence through participation in in-service education activities provided by South Buffalo Charter School and/or self-selected professional growth activities Create, with assistance from students, a functional and attractive environment for learning through displays, bulletin boards and interest centers Establish and maintain, in cooperation with school administration, standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom Participate in school-wide curriculum development Assist other staff members in helping pupils solve health, attitude and learning problems Perform other duties as assigned by Director or Director's designee Possible Anticipated Opening Please submit, through email, your interest in this position by June 30, 2026 Pay range is $43,430.00 to $81,367.14 (NYS Pay Transparency Law for Employers). Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Credential:

NYS General Elementary or Standard Elementary Social Studies background preferred

Education:

Bachelor's degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirement
