Job Description

Job Overview Start Date:
Sept. 1, 2026 Seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic, and student-centered Elementary Teacher. The ideal candidate will foster a love of learning while supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. This educator will create a positive classroom environment, build strong relationships with students and families, and collaborate with colleagues to support student success. Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging instruction in core subject areas, including English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. Develop lesson plans aligned with state standards and school curriculum. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners. Assess student progress and provide timely feedback. Maintain accurate records of grades, attendance, and student performance. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress. Foster a classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and academic growth. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support school initiatives and student success. Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events. Utilize educational technology to enhance instruction and student engagement. Support the social, emotional, and character development of students through positive classroom practices. Qualifications All teachers in the schools of the Diocese of Albany must have at least a bachelor's degree to qualify for full or part-time classroom responsibility for grades K-12. All teachers should have New York State Certification or be in the process of obtaining certification. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment. Experience teaching elementary-aged students preferred. Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences that support student growth and achievement.
Pay:
$35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
