Lead Teachers Location:
Patterson, NY Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic UPK Lead Teacher to join our preschool team in Patterson, NY, starting in July 2026 . The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education and committed to creating a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. The UPK Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing classroom instruction aligned with New York State Prekindergarten Learning Standards while fostering children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Responsibilities Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and activities that support school readiness and developmental milestones. Create a safe, positive, and inclusive classroom environment. Foster children's social-emotional growth through positive behavior management and relationship-building. Conduct ongoing observations and assessments to monitor student progress. Maintain accurate student records and documentation as required by program guidelines. Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress, classroom activities, and developmental goals. Collaborate with teaching assistants, support staff, and administrators to ensure program success. Participate in professional development opportunities and staff meetings. Ensure compliance with all program, licensing, and safety requirements. Qualifications Candidates must meet one of the following requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field; OR Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential; OR Currently enrolled in a college program related to Early Childhood Education with an approved plan of study. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with preschool-aged children (3-5 years old). Knowledge of New York State UPK standards and early childhood best practices. Strong classroom management and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with families, staff, and community partners.
