Job Description

Job Summary Saratoga Independent School (SIS), a private independent day school, seeks a dedicated and experienced Prekindergarten Lead Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This position involves leading a classroom for children aged 3 and 4 years old, fostering their cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development in a nurturing, stimulating environment. Duties Develop and implement a developmentally appropriate, engaging curriculum aligned with the SIS's educational philosophy and early childhood best practices. Create a welcoming, inclusive, and safe classroom environment that supports the individual growth and development of each child. Observe and document children's progress, sharing regular updates with families and preparing detailed progress reports. Foster positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues, maintaining open and professional communication. Plan and lead hands-on, inquiry-based activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration. Collaborate with colleagues (including assistant teachers) to integrate school-wide initiatives, events, and interdisciplinary learning. Maintain classroom routines and manage transitions to ensure smooth daily operations. Promote a love of learning and curiosity by modeling enthusiasm and responsiveness to children's questions and interests. Support social-emotional learning by helping children develop self-regulation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills. Uphold the school's mission and values while contributing to a positive and collegial school culture. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). At least three years of experience teaching in an early childhood setting. Knowledge of and commitment to developmentally appropriate practices. Strong classroom management skills and an understanding of young children's needs and behaviors. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to design and implement hands-on, play-based learning experiences. Familiarity with independent school culture and philosophy is a plus.
Pay:
$38,000.00 - $43,000.00 per year
