Aug 10, 2026 Job Description Elementary STEM Teacher (Grades 3-5) Position Overview Cambridge City Schools is seeking an innovative and student-centered Elementary STEM Teacher for grades 3-5. This position emphasizes hands-on, inquiry-driven instruction with a strong focus on engineering design, robotics, coding, and Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum implementation. The ideal candidate will inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking while integrating science, technology, engineering, and mathematics into meaningful learning experiences. This position is under the general supervision of the School Principal to facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. Key Responsibilities Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned STEM lessons for Grades 3-5 Support Project Lead the Way (PLTW) curriculum modules Facilitate hands-on learning experiences in robotics, coding, and engineering design Utilize tools such as robotics kits, coding platforms, and digital design applications Guide students through project-based learning and real-world problem-solving challenges Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs Assess student progress and use data to drive instruction Collaborate with classroom teachers to embed STEM across content areas Coordinate with other elementary professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participates in faculty meetings and committees Maintain a safe, organized, and engaging lab/classroom environment Encourage parental involvement in students' education and communicate effectively with families and staff Participate in ongoing professional development, including PLTW training Develop and administer school elementary curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction, and student learning Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate lesson plans into learning experiences so as to best utilize the available time for instruction Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs, including students with special needs - conduct individual and small group instruction as needed Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws Ensure that student conduct conforms with the school's standards and school district policies, and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records Supervise students in activities that take place out of the classroom during the school day, including activities involving school transportation Administer standardized tests in accordance with district testing programs Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the SuperintendentNote:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles. Knowledge of elementary school curriculum and concepts. Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students. Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed. Ability to organize and coordinate work. Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents. Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, STEM field, or related area (Master's preferred) Valid Ohio teaching license (Elementary Education or appropriate licensure) Experience with or willingness to be trained in Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Background or experience in robotics, coding, or engineering-based instruction preferred Knowledge of Ohio Learning Standards Strong classroom management and organizational skills Excellent communication and collaboration abilities Preferred Skills & Attributes Experience with robotics platforms (e.g., LEGO Education, VEX, or similar tools) Familiarity with coding platforms appropriate for elementary students Experience with project-based learning and inquiry-based instruction Passion for innovation, creativity, and 21st-century skill development Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive teachingFLSA Status:
