Duties Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, and social studies, ensuring lessons are interactive and tailored to diverse learning styles. Facilitate classroom activities that promote active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration among students. Utilize various teaching methods including technology integration, hands-on activities, and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations, to inform instruction and provide targeted support. Manage classroom behavior effectively by applying positive behavior management strategies that foster a respectful and inclusive environment. Collaborate with colleagues, specialists in special education, speech therapists, and counselors to support students with diverse learning needs such as autism or early intervention requirements. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral incidents; communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress. Support early childhood development principles by creating nurturing spaces that promote social skills, emotional regulation, and independence. Engage in ongoing professional development related to curriculum development, classroom management techniques, learning technology tools, and early childhood education best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid state teaching certification for elementary education. Proven experience working with children in a classroom setting, particularly at the 2nd-grade level. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and early intervention strategies. Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and administration. Knowledge of curriculum development standards across core subjects including literacy education, math, science, and social studies. Experience with classroom management techniques that promote positive behavior and an inclusive environment. Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and tutoring methods to support student achievement. Ability to incorporate learning technology tools into daily instruction for enhanced engagement.
