Job Description

A vacancy exists for (2) Two Elementary classroom teachers for Upper Merion Area School District for the school year 2026-2027 at the Middle School.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required and valid PA certification in K-6 required. Excellent communication skills, organization skills, problem-solving skills, and ability to use technology to work effectively. Ability to work as a member of a team, be courteous, and able to deal effectively with people, and work in an environment with frequent interruptions. Must be able to cope with the needs and behavior patterns of children, able to withstand emotional stress, and must have a warm, friendly, helpful personality. Ability to follow written and verbal directions, ability to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ability to read, write, and do simple computation. Ability to work independently and make work-related decisions and exercise good judgement with student interaction. Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs, interests, and abilities of each child. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, keeps appropriate records, provides specific and timely feedback, and prepares progress reports. Assists the student in making an assessment of his/her abilities and in establishing educational goals in keeping with these abilities. Fosters an environment that encourages active student participation in the learning process. Complete applicable paperwork requirements (special education documents, program documents, progress monitoring and data collection forms, etc.) within specific timelines. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students. Creates an environment for learning through functional and attractive displays, interest centers, and exhibits of students' work. Identifies needs, makes appropriate referrals, and assists in the development of strategies for individual education plans. Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure, and maintains order in the classroom in a fair and just manner. Communicates regularly with parents through newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc. Assumes responsibility for his/her professional growth and actively participates in professional development activities designed to upgrade knowledge of subject matter and instructional strategies. Plans and coordinates the work of paraprofessionals, parents, and volunteers in the classroom and on field trips. Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned. Bachelors:
$55,439year; Bachelors+24: $59,654/year;
Masters:
