School Nurse Teacher 1 Year Only - Hanaford Elementary School East Greenwich Schools - 3.0 East Greenwich, RI Job Details Full-time 17 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification RN License First aid and CPR Full Job Description East Greenwich School Department is seeking applications for a 1 Year Only School Nurse Teacher.
Role and Responsibilities:
Identifies students health needs, implements services, and evaluates plan of care.

Collaborates with students and their families, educators, and health care providers to enhance student wellness.

Provides for state-mandated screening programs, including vision, hearing, dental, and scoliosis.

Maintains individual student health records, including electronic methods. Supports mandated immunization protocol form the R.I. Department of Health.

Specific tasks include: medication administration, first aid, emergency treatment, daily medical log maintenance, medical exclusion, and daily medical tasks such as diabetes pumps, g-tubes, etc.

Knowledge of practices and procedures about the Nurse Practice Act and state-level regulations. Ensures compliance with current laws and communication of changes. Resource for student advocacy about statutes at a building level. Assist in district health policy writing.

Ensures compliance with district RIDOH vaccination and dental reporting.

Assists with the collection of data and compiles accurate and complete health reports as required by the school system and state agencies for their respective building.

All other duties assigned by the Superintendent or Principal.

Education and ExperienceMust hold a Rhode Island Department of Education Certificate as All Grades School Nurse Teacher, Grades PK-12 and be CPR certifiedMust hold a Rhode Island Department of Health Registered Nursing licenseAt least 3 years of relevant experience preferredBachelors degreeTools & Equipment UsedThe individual should be familiar with the operation of standard office equipment including, but not limit to, personal computers, and spreadsheet, Microsoft Office, Aspen and Google.
