Lower Elementary Teacher

Sol Spanish Immersion School (formerly Helsinki International Schools) is a Spanish Immersion Elementary School and Preschool located in Franklin, TN, which is a suburb of Nashville, TN. Our curriculum based on the national education model of Finland. Finland has one of the best educational systems in the world and we use the latest pedagogical research and developing our school's culture using teaching materials based on Finnish education.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Spanish Immersion Lower Elementary School lead teacher implementing and developing our curriculum based on the education model of Finland. You will be trained and mentored by Tim Walker, a famous education author who serves as our Director of Instruction & English teacher. Creating joyful lesson plans (emergent curriculum) This will also entail eating lunch with students to model healthy eating habits and conversation skills as well and spending time outdoors with the students, even during rainy days. Qualifications, skills and attributes:

• Teaching degree required
• At least 1 year of teaching experience
• Excellent oral and written proficiency in Spanish and English
• Excellent interaction, collaboration, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as good organizational skills and a systematic approach
• An understanding and a sensitivity for cultural diversity
• A positive attitude and great cooperation skills
• A passion for supporting children in finding their own personalities and ways of learning

$23.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
