Position Overview Our Grade 1 Teacher will create a warm, engaging, and developmentally responsive learning environment where students are encouraged to explore, collaborate, ask questions, and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. This educator will integrate outdoor learning, hands-on experiences, and project-based investigations into daily instruction. 

Duties Key Responsibilities:

Design and facilitate meaningful, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with Reggio-inspired practices Foster a classroom culture centered on curiosity, creativity, kindness, and belonging Incorporate outdoor and nature-based learning into weekly instruction and exploration Observe, document, and reflect on children's learning processes and development Support foundational literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth in developmentally appropriate ways Create engaging provocations and beautiful learning environments that inspire discovery Collaborate closely with colleagues, school leadership, and families Maintain strong communication with parents regarding student growth and classroom experiences Encourage student voice, independence, and collaborative problem-solving Participate in school events, professional development, and community-building activities

Requirements Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field Valid teaching certification/license preferred but not required Experience teaching early elementary students, preferably Grades K-1-2 Familiarity with or strong interest in the Reggio Emilia approach Passion for outdoor education, gardening, nature walks, and experiential learning Strong classroom management rooted in respect and relationship-building Excellent communication and collaboration skills Creative, reflective, and flexible mindset
