The ideal candidate will possess a strong Catholic faith, a love for children, strong communication skills, positive classroom management practices, and Virginia or VCEA licensure or be willing to work towards certification. Vernon and Ft. Belvoir. It is a Christ-centered school community rooted in the teaching traditions of our Catholic faith. We serve over 500 students in grades Preschool-8th grade. Our mission is to empower our students to love, learn, and lead others to Christ. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in literacy, math, science, social studies, and religion. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behavior management and supports diverse learning needs, including special education and working with students with autism. Utilize learning technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding. Assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations, including standardized testing preparation and ongoing assessments. Mentor and support students' social-emotional development, encouraging collaboration, communication skills, and respectful behavior. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and school-wide initiatives such as early intervention programs. Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and behavioral documentation; ensure compliance with education administration policies. Skills Proven classroom experience with elementary-aged children. Strong writing skills for lesson planning, report writing, and communicating effectively with parents and staff. Expertise in literacy education, math instruction, and library services to support comprehensive learning. Ability to adapt teaching strategies for individual needs through tutoring or personalized learning plans. Excellent communication skills to engage students, collaborate with colleagues, and connect with families. Knowledge of behavior management techniques to create a safe and nurturing classroom environment.
