Position Summary The Elementary Teacher provides Christ-centered, academically strong, developmentally appropriate instruction for students in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. Grade-level placement is determined by academy need, applicant experience, and classroom fit. This position requires a prepared, dependable, teachable, and student-focused teacher who can plan clearly, teach intentionally, manage the classroom consistently, communicate professionally, and support student growth academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. The teacher serves as a daily example of servant leadership by caring for students well, partnering with families, receiving feedback with humility, and contributing to a positive Christ-centered school culture. Education Requirements Bachelor's degree in education or a related field preferred. Teaching certificate or demonstrated classroom teaching experience preferred. Christian school, private school, public school, homeschool, ministry, or classroom teaching experience may be considered. Must complete required background checks, child-safety clearances, health documentation, training, and onboarding requirements before working with students. Essential Responsibilities Plan and deliver daily instruction aligned with approved curriculum, Abeka resources where applicable, Virginia Standards of Learning, academy lesson-plan expectations, and student learning needs. Prepare weekly lesson plans, learning objectives, assessments, instructional materials, classroom activities, and reteaching plans as needed. Teach assigned subjects such as reading, writing, mathematics, Bible, science, social studies, and other grade-level or academy-assigned content. Use clear instructional routines including opening activities, direct instruction, guided practice, independent practice, active student engagement, and checks for understanding. Use formative assessments, quizzes, student work, exit tickets, classroom observation, and approved data tools to monitor student growth and adjust instruction. Maintain a structured, safe, engaging, respectful, and Christ-centered classroom environment with high academic and behavioral expectations. Provide appropriate support, reteaching, intervention, structure, and encouragement for students who need additional help. Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, student progress, parent communication, classroom concerns, incidents, and assigned documentation. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, staff, and academy leadership in a timely and solution-focused manner. Partner with administration, instructional coaches, and colleagues to strengthen classroom instruction and student support. Participate in required meetings, professional development, PLCs, coaching sessions, school events, chapel-related routines, and academy initiatives. Receive feedback with humility and implement instructional support, coaching recommendations, and leadership direction in a timely manner. Maintain a clean, organized, prepared classroom and follow all academy policies, confidentiality requirements, safety procedures, supervision standards, and classroom expectations. Required Qualifications Active Christian faith and clear alignment with the Christian mission, values, and ministry expectations of Calvary Chapel Christian Academy. Ability to teach with clarity, warmth, structure, consistency, and high expectations. Strong classroom management, lesson planning, communication, organization, and follow-through skills. Ability to work well with students, families, colleagues, instructional support staff, and academy leadership. Dependable, punctual, professional, teachable, student-focused, and willing to grow through coaching and professional development. Ability to protect confidentiality and follow school policies, child safety expectations, and supervision standards. Preferred Qualifications Elementary teaching experience. Bachelor's degree in education or a related field. Experience with Abeka curriculum, Virginia Standards of Learning, classroom assessment, differentiated instruction, and intervention support. Experience in a Christian school, private school, public school, homeschool, ministry, or comparable instructional setting.

Grade-level placement and specific schedule are determined by academy need, applicant experience, and classroom fit. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Regularly sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and move throughout classrooms and campus spaces during the workday. Stand or walk for extended periods while supervising students, supporting transitions, and managing classroom routines. Use hands and fingers to handle classroom materials, technology, student records, and child-care supplies as applicable. Communicate clearly enough to hear, speak with, and supervise students, families, and staff in normal and active school environments. Maintain visual awareness of students and surroundings, including close vision, distance vision, peripheral awareness, and depth perception. Walk the full campus and access classrooms, offices, restrooms, playgrounds, chapel spaces, and other ministry facilities as needed. Occasionally lift, carry, or move classroom items up to 25 pounds. Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, chapel, arrival, dismissal, and other school routines as assigned. Pay:
