Immediately Job Summary:
Under minimal supervision, provides an exceptional classroom experience for Elementary School students.
Specific Responsibilities:
Teaches Kindergarten-5th Grade courses in particular discipline(s) Acts as teacher in the grade level who has primarily responsibility for grade communication, including: Weekly newsletter Regular contact with parents Holding and reporting on team meetings Bringing issues concerning students to the attention of Senior Administration, etc. Teaches remotely as needed • Attends Orientation Week, June Week, Parent-Teacher Conference Days, Back to School Night, In-Service Days, Faculty and Lunch Team meetings, Graduation, Open Houses, sel • Participate in Recess, Lunch, Event Duties as assigned Creates and maintains positive partnerships with students and families Establishes and cultivates community relations by maintaining open dialogue with all of the school's constituencies Actively participates in the full life of the school, including admission, development, and community events Vigorously engages in their own professional development; is a life-long learner who enhances their skills, using state-of-the-art technologies to maintain high standards of performance to efficiently and effectively produce work products Is familiar with and complies with all policies and regulations as put forth in the school's documents Since safety and security are everyone's responsibility, takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, faculty, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities Performs other duties as assigned
Required Education & Experience:
Bachelors' degree from an accredited 4-year college or university in education or a related field required Teaching credential in preferred At least three years' experience working with K-1 students required Experience working in an independent school preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Exceptional classroom management skills Proficient classroom technology skills Ability to communicate and work effectively with all school constituencies Data input skills for things like student report cards and internal documents Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team of highly motivated, enthusiastic teachers Committed to on-going professional growth and development Passion, creativity, dedication, and collaboration Flexibility, maturity, and a sense of humor Ability to keep information in the strictest of confidence Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity Proficient at working in a Microsoft Windows environment, using Office; ability to master common automated systems for record keeping, and confidently learn new technology Ability to stand multiple hours of the day Ability to sit and keyboard Ability to talk on the phone Ability to lift up to 40 pounds Ability to travel locally Ability to work outside in any weather
