Job Description

Grade 3 Teacher Manitowoc, WI Full-time Full-time We are accepting applications for Grade 3 Teacher positions at Jefferson Elementary School and Monroe Elementary School starting in the 2026-2027 School year. Appropriate DPI certification is required or applicant must be eligible to obtain appropriate Wisconsin DPI certification.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
include the following (other duties may be assigned) 1. Provides learning experiences & teaches the course of study prescribed by the District approved curriculum. 2. Develops & uses instructional materials suitable for verbal and/or visual instruction of students with a wide range of mental, physical, & emotional maturity. 3. Demonstrates the ability to effectively instruct & assess students as per the standards outlined on the District's supervision and evaluation form and/or other alternative supervision & evaluation methods. 5. Understands & maintains consistent progress toward meeting competency levels of Wisconsin's Teaching Standards. 6. Provides individual & group instruction designed to meet individual needs & motivate students. 7. Establishes & maintains standards of student control required to achieve effective participation in all activities. 8. Evaluates academic & social growth of students and keeps appropriate records. 9. Provides appropriate instruction & activities for students to meet school/ District policies goals & objectives. 10. Communicates with parents through a variety of means. 11. Holds parent conferences to discuss individual student's progress. 12. Identifies student needs & cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing & helping students solve health, attitude, & learning problems. 13. Creates an effective environment for learning through functional & attractive displays such as bulletin boards, interest centers, etc. 14. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the District and/or professional growth activities & university courses. 15. Participates cooperatively with the appropriate administrator to develop the method by which he/she will be evaluated in conformance with District guidelines. 16 Selects & requisitions instructional materials; maintains inventory records. 17. Maintains the District's standards relative to the confidentiality of information about students & school related concerns. 18. Attends to the safety & well being of all students, including but not limited to, the use of universal precautions as per blood borne pathogens training.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Credentials:
Valid DPI license with applicable certification for the teaching assignment.
PERSONAL QUALITIES
Appearance, grooming and personality which establish a desirable example for students. Ability to meet District standards for physical and mental health. Recommendations from student teaching supervisors and other professionals who have observed the characteristics, scholastic attainment and classroom performance of the teacher that meet District's standards for hiring.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
