•Character Requirement Instructors must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and ethical conduct. This position is subject to background and drug screening and adherence to high moral standards. Position Summary The Avionics Instructor is responsible for delivering FAA-approved curriculum to prepare students for FAA General, Airframe, and Powerplant, FCC 1, 3, and 8, and
NCATT AET
certification exams. This role includes classroom and lab instruction, student mentorship, and maintaining compliance with institutional policies and curriculum standards. Key Responsibilities A&P Instructors will deliver theory and practical instruction per FAA-approved curriculum. Avionics Instructors will deliver theory and practical instruction per FCC and NCATT curriculum. Track attendance and enter grades within 24 hours of task completion. Ensure all coursework is completed, assessed, and documented. Manage makeup exams and practical project retakes. Maintain a daily planner aligned with lesson plans and curriculum. Review curriculum, policies, and student catalog prior to each term. Maintain instructional tools, training aids, and manuals. Request supplies as needed to support instruction. Keep classrooms, labs, and hangars clean, organized, and safe. Coordinate with Hangar Operations staff during training sessions. Protect and responsibly manage institutional assets. Professional Expectations Punctual, reliable, and professionally dressed (NAA logo shirt, dark pants, appropriate footwear). Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Goal-oriented, team-focused, and committed to student success. Efficient, proactive, and open to continuous learning. Able to mentor and inspire a diverse student population. Qualifications High School Diploma (required). FAA Airframe & Powerplant Certification (required) for A&P instructors qualifications per FAR Part 147.19 Additionally, FCC 1,3, and 8 & NCATT AET certification (required) for avionics instructors. Minimum 3 years of industry experience related to Aviation Maintenance. Avionics/electrical maintenance experience, troubleshooting skills, on aircraft. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic internet navigation.
