Job Description:
The Department of Mechanical Technology at SUNY Broome Community College is seeking a talented and experienced Adjunct Instructor to join our team! We're looking for a highly qualified individual to teach and mentor students entering the Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technician career path. The successful candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical engineering technology, with expertise in areas such as circuit analysis, electronics, and control systems. As an Adjunct Instructor, you'll be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and contributing to the department's outreach activities. We want to hear from you if you're passionate about sharing your knowledge and expertise with the next generation of engineers! These positions are filled on an as-needed basis and are on-going recruitment efforts. Applicants are contacted/hired for assignments based on College needs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Creating Syllabus. Teaching under the guidance of the department chairperson. Assessing student learning outcomes. Utilizing current learning management system technology (Brightspace) in the performance of job duties. Maintaining standards of professional conduct and ethics. Fulfilling other duties as outlined in the Faculty contract.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Robotics Engineering, or a related field is required. A Master's degree is preferred.
Mechanical Curriculum Experience:
Require proficiency with core mechanical course curriculum with labs and class room material preparation.
CNC Programming Experience:
Require proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), as well as knowledge of materials, machine operations, and production processes. Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission. Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.
Preferred Experience:
Teaching core curriculum for Mechanical Technology such as Statics, Dynamics, Material Science with lab components, but not limited to these courses. Teaching Precision Manufacturing, CNC Programming (G-code) with imports from various CAD Software. Experience with Haas tooling. Teaching Tool Carousel Programming including Print- to- Part.
