Job Description

ECPI University is seeking Mechanical Engineering Technology and Civil Engineering Technology Instructors to teach undergraduate students in a hands-on, career-focused environment. This is an excellent opportunity for engineering professionals looking to transition into education— no prior teaching experience required . We provide comprehensive training, mentoring, and ongoing faculty support to help you succeed. Classes are delivered in 5-week accelerated terms with small class sizes , allowing for personalized instruction. Evening and weekend availability is required to support our adult learners. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate Mechanical or Civil Engineering Technology courses Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction aligned with industry practices Support student learning in a fast-paced, 5-week course format Provide guidance, mentorship, and academic support to students Troubleshoot basic technical/software issues for students as needed Participate in scheduled live sessions and office hours (online faculty) Qualifications Education Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field OR Master's degree with 18+ graduate semester hours in the discipline Ph.D. preferred Experience Minimum 1+ year of relevant industry experience required (7+ years preferred) Industry experience must be within the past 5 years Teaching, training, or mentoring experience is a plus
Technical Skills Required:
Experience with AutoCAD, Inventor, or other 3D design software Mechanical Engineering Technology (Preferred): Machine Tool Technology CNC G-Code programming CAD/CAM software Civil Engineering Technology (Required):
Geomatics & Surveying Fluid Science Additional Areas of Interest:
Drafting & Modeling Engineering Mechanics Manufacturing & Machining Machine Design & FEA Thermal & Fluid Sciences Mechatronics Candidates:
