Open until filled Description The Department of Biomedical Engineering is dedicated to developing solutions for human health by educating the next generation of biomedical engineers, cultivating leaders, and nurturing the integration of engineering, science, and medicine in a discovery-centered environment. To help advance this mission, we are seeking a distinguished applicant to fill one Tenured faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level. We are particularly interested in recruiting faculty into the targeted areas of (but not limited to) neuroengineering, bioprinting and tissue engineering using human models, cancer immunotherapy and organoids, and wearable techniques that produce large amounts of data suitable for AI or data-science pipelines in solving biomedical problems . Qualifications Required qualifications include a doctorate in engineering or a related field with an outstanding record of research accomplishments, publications, and appropriate externally sponsored funding. Candidates are also expected to have a successful record of mentoring the new generation of leaders in biomedical engineering, strong interest in undergraduate and graduate teaching in biomedical engineering, and a commitment to university and professional service. Additionally, we seek applicants who have a desire to build collaborations with Dell Medical School and other regional medical centers including MD Anderson Cancer Center, UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, the Texas Heart Institute, and UT Health Science Centers at Houston and San Antonio. Candidates whose research aligns with Texas funding mechanisms such as CPRIT (Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas) and the recently approved DPRIT (Dementia Prevention Research Institute of Texas) are encouraged to apply.
