The Department of Engineering Technology and Industrial Distribution, College of Engineering at Texas A&M University invites applications for 2 part-time or full-time Academic Professional Track (Non-Tenure) or Visiting (Non-Tenure) positions at (visiting) lecturer, (visiting) senior lecturer, (visiting) principal lecturer, (visiting) instructional assistant professor, (visiting) instructional associate professor, or (visiting) instructional professor, (visiting) professor of the practice levels with the titles and ranks depending on background, qualifications, and experience with a 4.5-month or 9-month academic appointment, and the possibility of an additional summer appointment contingent upon need and availability of funds, beginning in fall 2026, or spring 2027. Successful applicants will teach primarily at the undergraduate level and provide extensive support for Texas A&M Engineering, including developing and implementing improvements to instructional techniques. The successful applicants will be responsible for the organization, delivery, evaluation and assessment of the engineering courses and student outcomes associated with those courses at the Texas A&M Higher Education Center at McAllen in McAllen, Texas. Courses include, but may not be limited to, robotics and automation, mechatronics, control engineering, engineering design, mechanical engineering, engineering laboratories, and senior capstone design courses. Successful applicants will serve as a liaison between College Station and McAllen engineering faculty/staff and advise and mentor undergraduate students and student organizations, including developing and leading extracurricular activities for undergraduate students. The Texas A&M McAllen Higher Education Center is a remote learning environment of Texas A&M University located in McAllen, Texas. There are several Texas A&M programs offered at the McAllen Higher Education Center, including two degree programs for engineering: Interdisciplinary Engineering and Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology. Students who choose to study engineering at the McAllen Higher Education Center are Texas A&M Engineering students. They will spend at least their first year in McAllen as general engineering students. After their first year, they may wish to stay at the McAllen Higher Education Center to earn a BS in either Interdisciplinary Engineering or Multidisciplinary Engineering Technology, or they may choose to apply to one of the 22 engineering majors offered in College Station. These talented students will be enrolled in Texas A&M engineering courses, taught by Texas A&M faculty, earning a Texas A&M degree, all while being able to stay in the Rio Grande Valley.
