JOB DESCRIPTION
We're seeking instructors to teach the following courses, with the potential for continuing appointments in these and/or other courses based on need. Appointment is contingent on class enrollment for each class, each semester.JOUR 210
- Multimedia Journalism
- Spring 2026
- in-person or online For JOUR 210, students learn basic photography, audio and video production skills, and produce multimedia projects following the tenets and ethical practices of journalism.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in journalism or communication with a specialization in journalism OR Bachelor's in either of the above AND Master's in English, history, communication, literature, composition, comparative literature, any social science, business, business administration, marketing, graphics or photography OR Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area. OR The equivalent. Equivalent qualifications may include related education, training, employment and professional experience that would be equal to the required degree(s) and experience in this field as determined by the District Equivalency Committee. Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff. The applicant must be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity minded practices within the classroom.Desirable Qualifications:
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
Teaching experience is preferred. Experience with real-world journalism, radio or broadcasting. Passionate about teaching community college students. Experience in applying diversity, equity and inclusion practices in the workplace or classroom.Working Conditions:

$1572.67- $1725.85 per lecture unit rate, $1572.67
- $1725.85 per lab parity unit rate, $1258.16

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS SUMMARY
This recruitment will remain active for a period of one year, from the position opening date. If there is no longer a need to fill, the position may be closed sooner, and applicants will be notified. This is a continuous recruitment to fill part-time, and temporary faculty assignments on an as-needed basis. When the need to fill arises, the department will refer to this pool of part-time faculty. They will review the information provided and contact you if you are selected for an interview. Possession of the minimum qualifications does not guarantee an interview. Also note that you must upload your resume and transcripts. Applications submitted without all of the required documents will not be considered.
